Virtual Community

The term Virtual Community refers to a group or a collection of individuals who have chosen to interact through the means of the Internet. This medium of interaction through the Internet has grown immensely popular and can be used as a complimentary means for people who know each other as physical beings.

A Virtual Community was formed for the use of members in order to keep in touch, though they are physically absent, facilitating loads of purposes.

In this process, social software is put to use in order to keep a regulation on the activities of the members.

These types of chains thereafter modify themselves to be turned into Online Social Networks .

Virtual Communities have been seen to be implemented with Web 2.0 technologies with the community, and that is the reason this has often been described as Community 2.0

The bondage between the members is expected to be strong, emotional to a certain extent; though this has been violated online from the early days of USENET.

Virtual Communities are technically dependent upon social interaction and exchange between users online.

This is so said because it specifies the bonding between the members.
